THE SCHMIDTS

In 1927, Harold F. Schmidt founded a real estate brokerage in Traverse City, Michigan. H.F. Schmidt Real Estate, as the firm was originally known, was based on the principles of honesty, integrity and an unwavering commitment of outstanding service to its clients, agents and employees and the communities in which they serve. Five generations and 95 years later, the firm remains with its home office in Traverse City and operates today as the Schmidt Family of Companies, one of the largest full-service real estate brokerage firms in the country. We have three real estate franchises - Coldwell Banker, Century 21 and Sotheby's International Realty - and 90+ offices, over 1,900 agents and almost 300 employees across 90 offices in western and upper Michigan, northeast Ohio, both coasts of Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Servant Leadership is the core value of which Ken and Mike Schmidt and their family of employees, agents and brokers all live by and feel empowered by - seeing the world as a place filled with unlimited opportunities to create extraordinary value and change through serving others.

THE SCHMIDT COMMUNITY FUND

In 2019, Ken Schmidt and Mike Schmidt – 3rd and 4th generations respectively – founded the non-profit organization Schmidt Community Fund, dedicated to fulfilling our moral responsibility to serve one’s neighbor and community and helping people with their education so they have the skills necessary to realize their potential, laying the foundation for a life full of opportunities.

In keeping with their philosophy of how together, we can do more; the Fund intentionally and only provides matching funding when the requesting party is personally vested in the recipient with his or her personal time and funding.
